Healthcare costs incurred in Europe?
EHIC
An EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) is a European healthcare card. You will need it if you need care during your holiday or stay in another European country.
Who is it for?
The EHIC from the CAK is for people who are insured through the CAK and live in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
Care and reimbursement
You are insured for medically necessary care in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. And in the Netherlands, for all the healthcare included in the basic package.
Where is it valid?
The CAK-issued EHIC is valid in EU/EEA Member States (including the Netherlands), the United Kingdom and Switzerland. And in Australia, under certain conditions.
