What if the CAK decides too late on my application or objection?
We need to make a decision on your application or objection on time. If we don't, you might get a compensation.
When do we have to decide?
- You will receive a letter from us that we have received your application or objection. The letter states within how many weeks you get a decision.
- Will we not be able to decide within that time?
- And is it an application? We'll decide as soon as possible.
- Is it an objection? Then we can take another 6 weeks to decide. We will send you a new letter about this.
You don't have a decision after that? Then we are too late.
If you have no decision
Did you not get a decision within time mentioned? Then you can let us know. In Dutch this is called in gebreke stellen. For example, with your own letter or with this form (in Dutch) from the Dutch government. Please send us your letter or form. Choose your CAK scheme or situation:
Social support (Wmo: Wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning); Long-term care (Wlz: Wet langdurige zorg)

After receiving your letter or form, we have 2 weeks to decide. We can't make this either? After these last two weeks, you are entitled to compensation.
How much compensation?
You can receive compensation for up to 42 days. How much compensation you get depends on the number of days we are late:
- 1 to 14 days late: EUR 23 per day
- 15 to 28 days late: EUR 35 per day
- 29 to 42 days late: EUR 45 per day
